Alumni Relations Mission Statement:
The Office of Alumni Relations mission is to connect our alumni, students, parents and friends to the university and each other through engagement in volunteerism and intellectual exchange and growth for the purpose of advancing the interests of Carnegie Mellon University and therefore each other and higher education as a whole.
Alumni relations is about identifying the intersection of the university's interests and the interests of its graduates and then expanding that common ground through meaningful engagement over time. The goal of alumni relations is to provide alumni with a wide range of ways to engage with the university and each other that reflects their own experiences and interests; to provide multiple two-way channels of communication; and to provide a wide array of meaningful volunteer roles for alumni which will require varying time commitments to accommodate differing alumni interests and availability. The Office of Alumni Relations works closely with the Alumni Association board of directors to develop programming that will accomplish these goals. Through involvement with regional chapter organizations, class and reunion committees, affinity chapters and college and school alumni activities, there are a myriad of ways for alumni to re-experience the camaraderie and intellectual stimulation that characterized their time as a student on campus.
