Where should I stay near campus?
While our office no longer holds room blocks, we are happy to provide a list of local hotels.

Do I need to register? What is the deadline?
Yes, we highly encourage pre-registration, although onsite registration is available. We request pre-registration in order to get an accurate room and a food count. In addition, please note that some events may have a capacity limit. Pre-registration closes on April 4.

Will I receive a confirmation of my registration?
Yes, by providing an email address you will receive a message confirming details of your registration.

What if it’s not my reunion year…should I still attend Spring Carnival?
Absolutely! Spring Carnival is open to the entire campus community, and we welcome all faculty, staff, alumni, students, and their families to the numerous activities planned throughout the entire weekend.

Am I able to see who else is attending?
Yes, you may view a list of pre-registrants. Additionally, there will be a scrolling list of attendees at the registration area in the Jared L. Cohon University Center.

Are there facilities for those with disabilities or special needs (including dietary)?
We want to make sure Spring Carnival is enjoyable, welcoming and accessible for all alumni, families, students, and their guests. If you or any of your guests have special needs, please let us know.

Where should I park on campus?
Due to the influx of alumni returning for Spring Carnival, special parking rules are in effect. Parking is available:

Friday: Schenley Golf Course ($5 cash only): 7 am-10 pm Price Reduced!
Saturday: Parking will be available in the East Campus Garage (no cost) on a first-come, first-served basis.

Please note: A shuttle running on a continuous loop will be provided from the Schenley Golf Course to the Cohon University Center (including stops at Hunt and Dithridge) from 7 am-10 pm. 

Parking for the disabled available in the East Campus Garage and at the Alumni House. Both locations will require the blue decal being presented (pass or license plate) to utilize the spaces. 

Are golf carts available?
Should you need assistance, please speak with the Spring Carnival Weekend staff by going to the Registration & Welcome Area in the Cohon University Center or call 1-866-401-9529.

What should I wear for the weekend?

Attire for the weekend varies depending on the event, although most events are casual.

What if I have (or witness) an emergency?
Contact University Police at 412-268-2323.

Can I access the university wireless network?
All guests can access the CMU Guest wireless from April 10-April 13, 2014. Access Code: GLNXVJYL. Learn more

Where is the bookstore located? What are the hours of operation?
The University Bookstore is located on the first floor of the Cohon University Center. Visit the University Bookstore online.

Where should I eat on campus?
In addition to the many activities throughout the weekend that will have food and beverages, if you are looking for a place to eat on campus, be sure to check out the Dining Service website

May I use the gym?
Guests may use the athletic facilities this weekend by presenting their Spring Carnival Weekend name badge at the Equipment Desk, located on the first floor of the Cohon University Center, across from Wiegand Gym. You will receive a wristband and access to locker rooms and facilities, as available (including gymnasium, pools, weight room, racquetball and squash courts).
Thursday & Friday: 6 am-2 am
Saturday & Sunday: 9 am-2 am

Is there a good spot to “catch up” on campus?
If you would like a quiet space to take a break or catch up with your student or friends, then stop by any of these locations:

Am I able to smoke on campus?
Many areas on campus have been designated smoke-free zones, inclusive of 20 feet proximity to all building entrances. Please adhere to the university policy and the posted smoking areas.
