About the Program:

The Carnegie Mellon Highland Ambassador program provides opportunities for an exclusive group of students selected for their enthusiasm and school spirit to host important university guests and to participate in a wide array of university and alumni events showcasing the best that Carnegie Mellon has to offer. The program provides these students an opportunity to interact one-on-one and in small groups with high profile alumni and top university volunteers such as the Board of Trustees, the Alumni Association Board and VIP visitors to campus, as well as the overall alumni population.

A sampling of events where Ambassadors will likely be involved include President’s Weekend, Campaign Events for the university’s top donors and fundraising prospects, Homecoming & Reunion Weekend, Carnival & Reunion Weekend, Board of Trustee weekends and Alumni Board weekends. If you would like to request an ambassador for your event, please download and complete the Ambassador Request form, or contact Jahna Steiner in the Office of Alumni Relations.

As members of the Highland Ambassador Program, students will receive both general hospitality training, as well as training specific to each event or activity. In addition, there will be periodic briefings to update ambassadors on news about the university. To be selected as a Highland Ambassador is a great honor that will recognize each student’s outstanding personal and leadership skills and provide them with extraordinary networking and social opportunities.
