
In 1950, Carnegie Tech/Carnegie Mellon presented its first Alumni Awards. Since then, more than 500 individuals have been recognized for their achievements in the arts, humanities, science, technology, and business, and for their service to the university. These alumni have distinguished themselves not only in their student and professional lives, but in their dedication and commitment to Carnegie Mellon. The Carnegie Mellon Alumni Association currently presents awards in seven categories. At right, you will find links to short descriptions of each category as well as a full list of award winners.

David A. Kofke, E'83
Kofke is chair of the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering at the State University of New York at Buffalo, and is renowned as a pioneer in the field of molecular simulation.
Richard M. Lackner, HS'79
Lackner, known for building strong relationships with his players, is head football coach at Carnegie Mellon, and led the Tartans through 22 consecutive successful seasons.
